Joint Injections

Joint injections are a helpful part of arthritis treatment. These injections deliver a medication called steroid (also known as “cortisone”) directly into the affected joint, like the knee or shoulder. Steroids reduce inflammation, easing swelling and pain.

Joint injections can temporarily decrease fluid buildup and cellular accumulation in the joint, providing relief from pain and stiffness. It’s important to know that the effects of steroid injections aren’t permanent. Typically, the improvement in inflammation, swelling, and joint pain lasts a few months before gradually wearing off.
